I was born and raised in the northwest, raising my three children in and amongst a small rural area. I have set my roots deep in the community, and have lived a life with gratitude for its lessons and stories. I’ve devoted my life to art, craft, and beauty, the applications of which is to preserve and protect that which I believe is sacred. Simple and essential in the cultivation of a well-lived life, giving thanks with many who have shared in the mission.
Vivid and colorful would be adjectives to describe my work, immediate or you could use impressionistic and tactile, which also helps to describe my process. I believe in showing up to the adventures of plein air painting, or on site to catching the live experience. In painting musicians and poets I feel that I am supporting and honoring their important work.
When I create art I am trying to catch the wind, trying to express the music, or trying stand with a poet. My practices allow me to be spontaneous and present.
