Working with the basics afforded by nature, Earth, Water and Fire, I am am continuously reminded of our connection to nature. What a privilege in adulthoodto be able to return to the pleasures of childhood: squishing mud between my fingers; splashing in warm or cool water, the temperature  dictated by the climate; and watching the embers of the campfire.

My pottery is organic by design and I intend to leave the mark of my hands on this medium which can last for thousands of years. In this day and age when so much around us is mass-manufactured for the least cost possible, I feel it is important to produce work which reflects the human touch.

The items I design and build mirror my love of nature, the garden, and the plants and animals in it, and my love of food. Food preparation and presentation can be an offering of love to others, and offering it in a hand made vessel brings me pleasure.

My continual struggle is toward personal authenticity and congruency in my life: to meld my passions of gardening, cooking, and pottery making; to find peace and harmony in my daily existence; to listen to my own small, still voice for focus and direction; to live well, laugh often, and love much. As my pottery is passed from my hands to yours, I wish you good health, peace, tranquility, and the Joy of creative expression.
