These final days of summer have been sunny, warm and beautiful, but the autumn equinox will be here soon and fall will be in full swing. We hope that you have enjoyed a nice relaxing summer, and that you are ready for the many activities that fall will bring.

At TWAA we have a lot going on, including planning for our annual Spring Fling, to be held April 8, 2017. Spring might seem like the last thing on your mind right now, but an event like that takes some long planning. Volunteers, donations (of either time or money), or auction items are already being accepted. Want to get involved? Email us at

In the more immediate future, if you’re looking for something to do this weekend, be sure to check out the Greater Gig Harbor Open Studio Tour; several KP artists are participating. More information at the bottom of this newsletter.

We have a lot of updates this month, so be sure to read to the end!

Help with decorations for Flavors of Fall

Want to support your community? The second Saturday in October is the Key Peninsula Civic Center’s famous fundraising event, Flavors of Fall. This year’s theme is Around the World in 80 Days and the decorations committee is looking for help to paint a variety of hot air balloon cutouts that will be hung as a part of the evening’s display. You can attend a painting party on Sunday, September 18th at 10am in the Evergreen Elementary gym. Canvases and paints will be provided. Have your own materials? Contact for details so that you can paint some at your leisure.
